Paradigm Consulting

Financial promotions pre-screen

Check a social media post against the FCA's financial promotions rules before it goes out. Paste the copy or upload the image, and get a rating, the specific issues and suggested wording, usually inside a minute.

First visit? The member firm button registers you. A Paradigm consultant then confirms which firm you act for, and you can submit once that is done.

What it checks

Mortgages

MCOB 3A, including whether a representative example is needed and whether the APRC and fee wording stand up.

Investments and pensions

COBS 4, including balance, past performance, capital risk and the extra warnings that restricted and high risk copy attracts.

Protection and general insurance

ICOBS 2, including whether cover is described fairly and whether exclusions get the same prominence as benefits.

Consumer Duty

PRIN 2A, on whether the copy suits the audience you say it is aimed at and supports an informed decision.

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell it about the post

The channels it will run on, the subject matter and who it is aimed at. Audience matters, because whether copy is fair depends on who is reading it and that cannot be read off the words alone.

  2. 2

Paste the copy, or attach the image

A screenshot of a post works as well as the text. LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X are all handled, and a character limit changes what the rules will tolerate.

  3. 3

    Read the assessment

A red, amber or green rating, the issues set out with the rule each one comes from, and an optional rewrite you can take or leave. It can be emailed to whoever approves promotions at your firm.

This is a pre-screen, not sign-off. The result supports your approver's judgement rather than replacing it, and responsibility for the promotion stays with your firm. For anything that is not a social media post, such as a website, a leaflet, an email or a video script, use the standard financial promotions review service.

Signing in means you accept the terms of use.
